ATELIER BARTAVELLE // Minimalist creations

We got to know ATELIER BARTAVELLE at the launch of the 4th edition published by our friends at MINT MAGAZINE. Alexia Tronel, one of the two founders of the brand, aroused our curiosity and we wanted to know more.

ATELIER BARTAVELLE is a dressing-room full of “iconic outerwear garments”. Among them, there are sleeveless vests, jackets, perfecto style biker jackets, trench coats or coats available in noble materials. The colors vary with the seasons.

These creations are minimalist and are constantly evolving, with the same problem: how to vary and adapt an innovative collection without overturning the forms, the codes and the universe that you defined to begin with ?

For the Autumn Winter 2015 collection, the creatives drew on maritime-inspired geometry, giving the garments an almost architectural cut. All the pieces in the Les Goudes collection can be worn one above the other and can be combined according to their shapes and materials. Each of the creations reflects a singular story: that of a rare material associated with the expertise of a workshop and a craftsman. One can thus read on the labels of items in the collection:

Made in Marseille by Jacky

The right sleeve of each jacket reveals a protective eye which, faithful to the Mediterranean tradition, protects against the evil eye. One of the two founders, Caroline Perdrix, is from Marseille.

ATELIER BARTAVELLE aims to continually collaborate with creatives and artisans: that is the very essence of this great fashion brand. The photo shoot of the collection Les Goudes portrays Ines Melia (DJ) under the lens of Adeline Mai (fashion photographer), against a background painted by Charlotte Develter (artist).
