Last Sunday we went to the Louis Vuitton Foundation to see the Olafur Eliasson CONTACT exhibition.
We were stunned and we’ll explain why.
First because going to the Louis Vuitton Foundation is to be faced with the incredible architecture of famed architect Frank Gehry who plays with transparency and modernity. Almost 10 years of work were needed for this new contemporary art location to see the light of day. Needless to say, we felt a little small!
Then perhaps it was because, once inside you just want to discover every room, one after the other, to go up, go down and admire the view.
But let’s get back to Danish artist Olafur Eliasson; he certainly did his part in creating works specially for the Louis Vuitton Foundation in this mind-opening exhibition: CONTACT.

Contact / Olafur Eliasson
This exhibition immerses the visitor in a game of contrast of lights and proportions that sometimes take him on wrong paths before putting him back on the right one. Be ready to question your idea of space and of others’ place.

Olafur Eliasson is not new to this and shows artistic plurality in putting on a sculptor, painter or set designer cap.

You can see his work at the STUDIO Olafur Eliasson in Berlin, a true nest of talents of all kinds: craftsmen, architects, web designers, chefs or movie directors.
The Other Sight also brought you back some real gems hanging in the Louis Vuitton Foundation. One gallery is dedicated to Frank Gehry’s work.
We can’t show you everything, it would spoil it! And we’ll let you discover or recognize the identity of the artists filling the other galleries (clues above)…
Practical advice: to avoid having to wait in the cold for half an hour to an hour, book your ticket online. It’s this way!
Pssst : nocturne le jeudi jusqu’à 23h.
