- Could you please introduce yourself ?
My name is Azul Andrea and I’m 27. I’m part Dutch, part Argentinian and part French. I first studied geography at Paris 8 University before getting quite determined to turn myself to art. After two years in the Ateliers Beaux-Arts organized by the city of Paris (La Glacière), I moved to the school La Cambre in Belgium to study ceramic. Then I went back to Paris in the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts, first in Vincent Barré’s studio and then in Ann Veronica Janssens’.
With this five years of studies I realized that my work would be fully realized in space. Thanks !!!
- Where does this interest for modern art comes from ?
I think it’s in my own story. It was my parents’ and granparents’ time. A time of big moves. It is incredible, but Georgia O’Keeffe made me dare to use color !
- What is the key word of your work ?
Be yourself !
- What inspires you ?
Images, all kinds of images. Moving ones, too. Life, people.
- What’s your favorite work ?
My cuttlefish ink mirror.
- What are your upcoming projects ?
