LOUISE PARIS

  • Would you introduce yourself in a few words?

I’m 32 years old. I’m a self-entrepreneur (Editor’s note: French fiscal status of a small company) who dreams of changing the world, it’s quite a program, isn’t it?

I’ve always wanted to create my own company. I’m all for lasting development, the environment, respect of human beings, etc. These criteria unfortunately are not the focus of many companies. Confronted to this sorry state of affairs, I thought if I wanted to work in a world that I liked with values I could fight for, I had to roll up my sleeves and create this dream company.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world” Gandhi said, that’s it ;)!

So, I directed my studies and internships with the goal of gathering all the competences I needed to get started. I did a business school prep class, two very enriching years, followed by a prestigious business school. Then I did an internship in Web at L’Oréal where I learned how to develop and maintain a website, then in a small fashion house and finally at Chloé where I did product development. There I discovered the world of luxury and French haute couture. I got familiar with the high-end product, what makes all its beauty and quality and I loved it!

  • Where does this interest for fashion come from?

Since forever! When I was a little girl I used to make bracelets and crowns with daisies and wildflowers, which I intended on selling at markets. Hello Alice in Wonderland  !!
I was already dreaming a lot. I used to sew clothes for my Barbies then dresses for my girlfriends and me. When I was 18, I worked for an absolutely fabulous tableware boutique. Alix Labarsouque, the founder, had impeccable taste, her windows made the admiration of the whole neighborhood. I was just an apprentice, working on wedding tables’ decoration. In the middle of fairy-tale-like decors, we cut, glued, sewed; I spent days doing and redoing ribbon bows, embroidering artificial flowers, it was Santa’s workshop version home décor/sewing, well, my idea of happiness! I found this love for working again when I landed at Chloé’s a few years later. Being surrounded by all these beautiful pieces and developing products people want so much, it’s exhilarating.

  • What is LOUISE Paris ’ operative word in your mind?

Happiness. It’s a daily pleasure to live among all these beautiful items, hunt for new pieces, to propose them to you, to run around Paris to take pictures and then integrate them in a set, to welcome usually very friendly customers at the showroom for their fittings, to receive nice messages from happy customers.

  • How do you select your items?

I pick items I like, preferably made in France or Italy and of quality, oh and timeless.

What is your favorite piece that you currently are proposing at the showroom and why?

The Louise bag by Chloé, it’s perfect: the leather is sublime, the bag elegant, refined and super practical, it goes with everything and adds a touch of chic to any outfit. I know it will be just as fashionable in 15 years as it is today, I don’t doubt it, a true marvel! 😉

  • What are your future projects?

I’m looking for a bigger space, perhaps a boutique to have a little photo studio and be able to have more merchandise. Especially for men, I find great items that I can’t take because I don’t have the room, such a pity!
