It was a great pleasure for us to accept Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs’s invite for L’EMPREINTE DU GESTE preview.
As a part of the 2016 European Artistic Crafts Days (Journées Européennes des métiers d’Art ), L’EMPREINTE DU GESTE presents 18 designers, meetings, projections but also crowd fundings information and a pop-up store. This week highlights singularity, modernity of artistic crafts and the undeniable creative, social, cultural and economic role they play into the way we think our future.

Foulard paysage minéral – textile papier // Judith Bourdin // Créatrice textile
These 18 artists’ work is featured with a renewed, contemporary approach of their savoir-faire. They reveal the genuine sense of handcraft by their fingerprints and their identities that visitors can read on their works.

Empreintes des arbres – bois // Pascal Oudet // Tourneur d’art sur bois
Depending on whether they are wood turner, glass-maker, cabinetmaker, textile designer, taxidermist, metalworker or ceramicist, the exceptional talents combined by Éric Sébastien Faure-Lagorce testify through their work about this human gesture that decorative arts, architecture, edition, culinary arts, fashion, design, photography or jeweler’s craft managed to rope in.
You’ll also be able to admire Mathias Kiss, Mona Oren or Mathieu Miljavac’s wonderful creations. We let you discover the others.

Trésor Noir – verre // Antoine Brodin // Verrier
L’EMPREINTE DU GESTE is unconventionally featuring exceptional practices, functional savoir-faire and beauty, in all their singularity and modernity.

Façonnage d’un seul bloc – bois // Bertrand Lacourt // Ébéniste

Archive de la disparition // Antonin Pons Bradley & Fanny Boucher // Héliograveurs
Practical Information : L’EMPREINTE DU GESTE – from March 29th to April 3rd 2016 – Musée des Arts Décoratifs – 103 rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris.
